An ultrasound system to perform non-invasive oncology therapies
The goal of this project is to develop a focused ultrasound system (FUS), under magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance, to perform non-invasive therapy in the area of oncology. The innovative robotic device will access targets in the abdominal (liver, kidney, uterus), brain, thyroid and breast. The robotic system, currently in a prototype form, can be replaced with a specialized arm so that it can be used for frameless biopsy for the same target (future application).
