Eratosthenes Center of Excellence team’s product consists of a UAV-based multi-spectral remote sensing system that provides a non-invasive, cost-effective, and scalable solution for early-stage corrosion detection. It enables to prevent costly repairs, safety risks, and structural failures traditionally associated with the corrosion of embedded steel reinforcements due to their aging in reinforced concrete (RC) structures. With real-time monitoring and no direct physical access needed, the lifespan of critical infrastructures, even of hard-to-reach areas like bridges, can be extended and at the same time maintenance costs are reduced and failures prevented.
