We welcome Expressions of Interest

We welcome Expressions of Interest

We wish to bring to your attention Cyprus Seeds, a new initiative in Cyprus offering grants, mentoring and networking in the USA and Europe. Eligible to the Cyprus Seeds program are researchers and academics in all the universities and research institutions in Cyprus whose research work has the potential to transit from the lab to the marketplace.

The Cyprus Seeds Grants & Services Program aims to support research groups in universities and research institutions in Cyprus to:

  1. Explore the market potential and viability of their work and
  2. Advance their technology.

Cyprus Seeds will nurture these cases in order to grow to a stage that can attract investors funds, leading to the commercialization of their technology, in the form of a spinout company and/or a licensing agreement.

The initial promoters of Cyprus Seeds are The Hellenic Initiative (https://www.thehellenicinitiative.org/), The A.G. Leventis Foundation (http://www.leventisfoundation.org/), Eurobank Cyprus, EY Cyprus and a number of successful Greeks and Cypriots of the Diaspora who have donated funds in order to help Cyprus Seeds meet its objectives.

Please visit our website www.cyprusseeds.com for more information on the donors, supporters and activities of the Cyprus Seeds Program.

The first 12-month cycle of the Cyprus Seeds Program is June 2019 to June 2020.

Prior to the opening of the FIRST Call for applications, on the 6th March, 2019, we wish to receive Expressions of Interest from potential applicants. The Expression of Interest will allow Cyprus Seeds to understand the likely range of fields/areas from which full applications to the program will arise. This will allow Cyprus Seeds to identify and secure the time commitment of the most appropriate individuals, from its international pool of evaluators, to assess the applications we receive.
