Enhancing plant tolerance against abiotic stressors is of great significance to ameliorate their negative impact on crop yield and therefore to sustain global food security. This project aims to develop a cutting-edge seed chemical priming technology, which will optimize the tolerance of important crop plants to major stress conditions related to global climate change. Furthermore, seed priming will be coupled with advanced coatings that will enable controlled release of the priming agents in the rhizosphere and maintain seed viability.
