Inherited demyelinating neuropathies are rare and disabling disorder that remain incurable. They result from mutations in genes expressed in myelinating cells of the peripheral nerves the Schwann cells. This project aims to develop genetic therapies, either gene silencing or gene replacement, specifically targeted to Schwann cells, in order to provide a therapeutic benefit in different types of demyelinating neuropathies, testing these approaches inpreclinical modelsand paving the way to clinical translation.
